Stevie is coming home!
Tuesday, May 27th, 2008This is one crazy day in the Hausmann household. We are preparing for the arrival of our son, Stevie, who has been spending his junior year in college studying in England. He flies home tomorrow.
Now, of course, I am excited. We’ve only seen him once during this time when we visited him in
London over Christmas and New Years. But, his mother is taking excitement to an entirely different level. Not only has she cleaned his bedroom to spit-shine levels, she has dug out his stuffed animal doggie and placed it on the pillow. Stevie, are you ready for this?
She has also employing the services of three young girls in the neighborhood to make a banner on a bedsheet welcoming Stevie back to the neighborhood. I will be placing this banner on the side of our home tomorrow afternoon.
The only thing Stevie has to do is…not miss the plane. Can he do it? His girlfriend couldn’t. Braelyn missed her connection in New York when she fell asleep at JFK and her flight left without her. And, though Stevie insists he is all packed and ready to go, he and his friends plan to stay up all night partying leading up to departure. They are all due to leave at 6:00 Wednesday morning for a 10:20 departure from Heathrow Airport which is about an hour from their dorm. He is due to land in Rochester Wednesday evening at 6:30pm. I’ll keep you posted.
