…sort of. I like the Lilac Festival, but, believe me, it has little to nothing to do with the blooms. I like the Lilac Festival for two major reasons

The first is our annual Rochester Ronald McDonald House Radiothon. This is the weekend we do what we can to help the great people at the two Ronald McDonald houses in our area. And, if you didn’t know, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester provides a home away from home for families who need to be near their children who are receiving health care in Rochester area hospitals. The other thing I love about The Lilac Festival is the comaradarie.  I have a favorite place to stand.  It is right near the beer tent (surprise, surprise) at the top of the hill.  It is a perfect vantage point for the comings and goings of everyone at the festival.  You can also easily hear and see who’s on stage.  And, did I mention, it is right at the beer tent?

If you are going to The Lilac Festival this weekend, stop by and say ‘hi’ to me at my favorite spot.  I’ll be the one holding the cold beer.
