Miley’s apology
Tuesday, April 29th, 2008No one asked me, but…I think Miley Cyrus’s apology is half-baked…at best.
I. of course, am referring to the teenager’s topless photo that’ll appear in the June issue of Vanity Fair. These photos come just one week after those racy photos of the Disney star appeared on the internet.
Miley, in a prepared statement, says she is “sorry and embarrased” by the pictures taken by celebrity photographer Annie Liebowitz.
Funny…because, earlier, Miley said that Annie took “a beautiful shot and I thought it was really cool. That’s what she wanted me to do, and you can’t say no to Annie.”
Which, then, is the real Miley, then…is it the girl who says ”I’ve got to make really good decisions. More than just for myself, but for the girls who are watching me.”? Or, the Miley who said of her topless photo ”I think it’s really artsy. It wasn’t in a skanky way”?
Miley…you can’t have your cake and eat it, too.
What do you think? More importantly, what do you say about this to your teenaged Miley-obsessed daughter? I look foward to your comments. Email me at shausmann@wbee.com
